4th International Conference in Duhok
Psychology and Psychotherapy for Future: Together in Hope
Organized by the Institute of Psychotherapy and Psychotraumatology (IPP), University of Duhok
from 2nd to 3rd November 2024, at the University of Duhok, Kurdistan Region, Iraq
Organizing the conference “Psychology and Psychotherapy for Future”, the Institute of Psychotherapy and Psychotraumatology (IPP) at the University of Duhok is aiming to provide an exchange forum.
Leading academic scientists, researchers, scholars, students, practitioners and educators can share and exchange their knowledge, results, experiences and viewpoints on various topics. These topics mainly include all transmission, reception, and interaction of global and local psychosocial, psychotherapy and trauma methods in conflict and post-conflict regions.
In addition, the latest innovations, trends, concerns, practical challenges and solutions in the fields of psychosocial support, social work, psychotherapy, psychiatry, and related fields can be addressed. In connection to these aspects, Western and local approaches to treatment can be presented and discussed.
The organizers invite papers, panels and roundtables on all aspects of these topics.
At the same time, topics of interest are not limited to the following list.
- Promote exchange and collaboration between researchers and practitioners
- Align working concepts and constructs between disciplines of scientific research and therapeutic practice
- Develop new research hypotheses to identify more targeted and innovative interventions.

We welcome interdisciplinary and theoretically informed approaches as well as transdisciplinary dialogue. Submissions from scholars, postgraduate students, practitioners and researchers working in governmental institutions, the NGO sector and other institutions are invited.
